Cheryl Walker - Democrat, 1st Congressional District

Cheryl D.S. Walker, of St. Louis, was appointed by the Governor to the Commission on November 2, 2018 and confirmed by the Missouri Senate on January 31, 2019. She serves from the First Congressional District, for a term through March 15, 2022.

Commissioner Walker practices law with Walker Commercial Law Group, LLC. She received her Juris Doctorate from Washington University School of Law and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Missouri University Science & Technology. She previously served on the Board of Curators (January 2003-July 2009) and as Co-chair of the Presidential Search Committee (March-October 2016) at the University of Missouri. She is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, American Bar Association, Mound City Bar Association, and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.

Commissioner Walker is the President of the Board of Commissioners of the St. Louis Regional Health Commission, President of the Board of Directors of the Deaconess Center for Child Well-Being, and a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Deaconess Foundation, where she served as President for two years. Her love for the arts is evidenced in her service as the Vice President of the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission.

She also enjoys spending time with her 3 children and two grandchildren.
