Robin Wheeler Sanders -
Democrat, 5th Congressional District
Robin Wheeler Sanders, of Kansas City, was appointed by the Governor to the Commission on July 12, 2022. She serves from the Fifth Congressional District, for a term through March 15, 2026.
Most recently Sanders lead Human Resources Human Resources, Learning and Development as well as Community Engagement, Corporate Communications and Marketing for Swope Health.
Prior to joining Swope Health, she worked for Providence Medical Center, HCA and The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
Sanders holds a bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Missouri Kansas City and an MBA from Rockhurst University.
A native of California, Sanders was primarily raised in Kansas City and is active in her community. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for TotalMan Community Development Corporation and SAFE, The Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund, which is a program of the Metropolitan Kansas City Crime Commission.
Ms. Sanders and her husband Anthony Sanders, retired from the Kansas City Police Department, now working with the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office, enjoy traveling, visiting museums, national parks and historic sites, new restaurants and spending time with family and friends.
